Women purchase their own homes much earlier than men

Women get their own homes earlier than men: 20% buy a house before the age of 25, and a third — at the age of 26-35, according to a study by GC "EXACTLY", timed to March 8. The results were reviewed by Izvestia.
Thus, among respondents under the age of 25, one in five (20%) already has their own apartment, while among men this figure is only 12%. At the age of 26-35, one in three women (34%) decides to take this important step, while only 20% of men are ready for it. Some of the respondents (24%) purchase housing between the ages of 36-45, while among men this figure is significantly lower — 10%. After the age of 45, buying real estate is less common: 3% among women and 8% among men.
It is noteworthy that only 14% of the respondents do not own their own real estate, while among men this figure is twice as high — 33%. At the same time, 17% of the stronger sex inherit apartments, while only 5% of girls do. At the same time, they are more likely to purchase housing on their own.
Women are more likely to focus on housing that corresponds to their ideas of family comfort and comfort. Thus, 47% of girls choose private houses or townhouses, while among men this figure is 39%. In addition, women choose new buildings in 33% of cases, and secondary construction attracts only one in five.
When choosing a place to live, girls primarily focus on safety, functionality and comfort. Half of the respondents (50%) consider location to be a key factor. Developed infrastructure with shops, schools, clinics and cafes is important for 22%.
Spacious rooms and a comfortable layout are a priority for every fifth. Transport accessibility is important for 9%, while closed territory and security are important for 4%.
"Women and men have different approaches to choosing housing, and this is noticeable both at the decision-making stage and during the transaction process. In the primary market, where more than 90% of transactions involve mortgages, the key factor is not so much the desire to purchase an apartment as the opportunity to get a loan," said Maxim Inyushev, Financial Director of PRECISELY Group.
According to him, women tend to be more persistent in making deals. They are actively using all available tools: maternity capital, preferential mortgage programs, and various government subsidies. Men, on the contrary, often postpone all issues related to the purchase until the last moment.
"Today, women make up the majority of buyers — their share is approaching 60%. Nevertheless, trends are changing: the resort real estate market, especially in the Krasnodar Territory, attracts more and more men who consider housing not only as an investment, but also as a place for permanent residence. It is likely that in the second half of the year their activity will become one of the drivers of the market," the expert concluded.
Earlier, on January 9, Izvestia got acquainted with a study by the Aeroplane company, which reported on the mandatory amenities of Russians when buying an apartment. According to experts, in the new year Muscovites want to buy apartments with dressing rooms (23%), built-in closets (15%), additional outlets on the balcony (13%), a second bathroom (12%), a master bedroom (9%) and a niche for a washing machine (8%).
