Criminals have abducted 29 law enforcement officers during riots in western Colombia. This was reported by Blu Radio on March 7.

"Police and military personnel were brutally attacked during the riots. <...> 29 law enforcement officers were reported abducted," the newspaper noted.

They added that during the clashes, the attackers also burned two official vehicles.

According to the country's Defense Minister Pedro Sanchez, the crimes were committed by people from the Revolutionary Armed Forces of Colombia (FARC).

"These actions constitute war crimes that violate international humanitarian law and human rights, as they lead to displacement, restriction, isolation and intimidation of the civilian population," the minister stressed.

It is clarified that the Colombian prosecutor's office is investigating the circumstances of the incident and is working to identify the perpetrators.

Earlier, on February 24, it was reported that at least 17 people were injured as a result of the explosion of a mined motorcycle near the police building in the Colombian city of Morales. According to media reports, two police officers were also seriously injured and were evacuated from the area by air.
