The chemist warned against the potential dangers of body cream

Body cream can cause allergic reactions. Andrey Dorokhov, Associate Professor of the Department of Inorganic Chemistry named after A.N. Reformatsky RTU MIREA, warned about this on Friday, March 7.
"The modern cosmetics market offers a variety of body creams that contain natural oils such as shea butter, coconut, argan oil and others. When choosing these products, it is important to understand that natural ingredients may have their own characteristics and limitations," Dorokhov warned in an interview with Lenta.Ru .
The chemist explained that the quality of the oils used plays an important role. At the same time, unrefined cold-pressed oils retain more useful properties and contain more nutrients, but may have a shorter shelf life. In addition, the specialist recommended storing such products in a cool place, protected from direct sunlight.
He recommended trying to avoid creams containing parabens and other aggressive preservatives, as they can cause irritation and allergic reactions.
In addition, Dorokhov added that the essential oils in the composition add a pleasant aroma and additional beneficial properties, but can cause allergic reactions.
Earlier, on January 29, Natalia Tkachenko, a cosmetology chemist and founder of the beauty brand Roz Mary, said that no cream can rejuvenate for 20 years. According to the expert, anti-age creams work on the principle of slowing down age-related changes, RT reports.
