Doctors of the Russian Children's Clinical Hospital named after N. I. Pirogov spoke about the positive dynamics in the condition of a nine-year-old child who was urgently hospitalized after being attacked by two dogs in Sochi. This was announced on March 7 by the press service of the RDKB.

"Consciousness has recovered, the boy is breathing independently and receiving enteral nutrition, hears and understands the words of the psychologist who is dealing with him," said Dmitry Prometnoy, head of the Center for Anesthesiology and Intensive Care at the Russian Ministry of Health.

The child is under constant supervision of intensive care doctors, who continue to carry out antibacterial therapy and wound treatment to prepare the patient for the stage of reconstructive plastic surgery, he added.

The hospital provided the child with all the necessary medicines, supplies, and equipment. It is noted that high-tech medical care, including surgical treatment and subsequent rehabilitation, is provided to the patient free of charge under the compulsory medical insurance program.

Earlier, on March 3, a boy who suffered an attack in Sochi by two neighborhood dogs was transferred to the intensive care unit. Anton Narbutov, Ph.D., head of the surgical service of the Russian Ministry of Health, said that there are plans to perform reconstructive plastic surgery to restore the soft tissues of the face. This is a complex and multi-step process that will take a long time.

An attack by two huskies on a nine-year-old child took place in Sochi on February 26. The dogs were unattended by the owner, they were driven away from the boy by passers-by. A schoolboy with multiple facial lacerations was taken to a hospital in Krasnodar. A criminal case has been opened. On February 2, it was reported that the boy would undergo surgical treatment with facial plastic surgery.
