The possible establishment of British military bases in Ukraine is unacceptable to Moscow, as it would mean the deployment of NATO infrastructure. This was announced on March 7 by Russian Ambassador to London Andrey Kelin.

He spoke about Britain's plans to create a coalition in support of Kiev, which, apparently, may include sending troops to Ukraine after the end of hostilities.

"We will have to create bases there, London has been dreaming about this for a long time, about creating two naval bases, moreover, one on the Sea of Azov, the other on the Black Sea. This was discussed a long time ago," Kelin said on the Rossiya-24 TV channel.

According to him, the possibility of creating British bases is unacceptable for Russia.

On January 17, it was reported that the UK intends to consider the possibility of deploying military bases in Ukraine. The facilities can be used to strengthen defense capabilities in the event of a "significant military threat."

In addition, the UK will provide Ukraine with annual military assistance of at least £3 billion per year for as long as "it is necessary to support the country."
