Apple trees from Stavropol will bloom on the banks of the Ganges

The fruit nursery "Stavropol Gardens" has sent the first batch of apple seedlings to India. The cargo included 100,000 young trees, the head of the region, Vladimir Vladimirov, said on his social networks on Friday, March 7.
Previously, Russian apple trees were not supplied to this country. Neither in modern Russia, nor in the USSR. When selecting varieties, the composition of the soil and the climatic conditions of India were taken into account, writes IA StavropolMedia.
According to the governor, in the future, Indian partners are ready to conclude a contract for the supply of 500 thousand units annually. He stressed that this is a good opportunity to increase the production of planting material in the region and create new jobs.
In 2025, with state support, the nursery from Stavrpol plans to grow a third more apple seedlings than a year earlier. Instead of 3 million, there are about 3.9 million trees. This is enough to answer the requests of Russian gardeners and foreign businesses.
Earlier, Izvestia wrote that Russia has developed a system for creating digital plant twins. She scans the escape in three and a half minutes and creates a three-dimensional model of it. Then it can be used to analyze the properties of an instance and select the most worthy one for further cultivation or breeding.
