Fico ruled out financing Ukraine and the supply of free weapons

Slovakia will not invest in Ukraine's military operations, nor will it provide free weapons. This was announced on March 7 by the country's Prime Minister Robert Fico.
"Slovakia will not give Ukraine money <for the conflict> and no free military products. This is our official position, which we adhere to," Fico said at a press conference following the summit on Ukraine.
He stressed that any aid coming to Ukraine should be provided "on a voluntary basis."
"Yesterday, the European Council did not commit itself to providing mandatory financial or military assistance to Ukraine," the Slovak Prime Minister concluded.
The EU Summit on Ukraine was held on March 6 in Brussels. Following the meeting, the head of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, announced that the leaders of the bloc's member countries had agreed on an 800 billion euro plan for the militarization of Europe. Before the summit, she clarified that the plan provides for investments in the military-industrial complex (MIC) of Ukraine and financing arms supplies to Kiev. She also clarified that the European side wants "peaceful force" in the settlement issue.
