The male cougar seized from a local resident was transferred to the Moscow Zoo

A male cougar named Hercules arrived at the Moscow Zoo, which was seized from a local resident. This was announced on March 7 in the Telegram channel of the zoo.
"For several years, the man kept a predatory animal in a cramped apartment in the Kuntsevo area. Local residents have repeatedly complained that the owner was walking the cougar around the area without a muzzle, thereby creating a serious danger to others," the report says.
As a result, the Mozhaisk district court of Moscow brought the man to administrative responsibility for keeping a rare and endangered animal without the necessary documents, and also ordered the confiscation of the cougar. Soon Hercules was handed over to the zoo staff.
At the moment, the animal is in quarantine, he was given a preliminary diagnosis of epilepsy and chronic enteropathy. Previously, the male had repeatedly experienced epileptic seizures.
Veterinary specialists will closely monitor the condition of the Hercules and, if necessary, conduct additional examinations.
On February 27, Indian stingless bees settled in the Moscow Zoo. These insects have become part of the permanent exhibition. There are no such bees in any other zoo in Europe. The new residents were presented to the zoo by Ivan Zenin, Master of the Department of Entomology at Lomonosov Moscow State University, who learned how to breed them.
