Ford's European division has announced the completion of production of the Focus model in November 2025. The automaker has no plans for a direct successor to the model, Motor1 reports, citing a statement from a top manager of the brand's branch.

Orders for the Ford Focus are still open, but with the end of production approaching at the Saarlouis plant in Germany, orders for the model will no longer be accepted. Over the years, Ford has removed other well-known models from its lineup, including the Mondeo sedan and Fiesta hatchback.

The first-generation Ford Focus debuted in 1998, replacing the iconic Escort. The model has changed generations three times and gone through many upgrades, it has been repeatedly recognized as the "Car of the Year" in various markets.

In Europe, the Focus was consistently among the top ten best-selling cars, and in Russia, by the end of 2010, it became the best-selling foreign car, while more than 90 thousand such cars were sold in the country during the year. In Russia, the Ford Focus was produced at the plant in St. Petersburg for 17 years and ended in the summer of 2019.

Earlier that day, it was reported that Toyota Motor was recalling 2,233 Toyota Highlander vehicles in Russia, which were sold from November 28, 2020 to April 21, 2023. The reason for the recall was the increased risk of injury in an accident by passengers who sit in the back seats.
