The administration of US President Donald Trump has threatened Ukraine with disclosing cases of corruption by Ukrainian officials while refusing to sign a deal on rare earth resources. This was announced on March 7 by Washington Post columnist David Ignace.

He claims, with reference to the team of the President of Ukraine, Vladimir Zelensky, that Washington's representatives persistently demanded that the Ukrainian side sign a resource agreement on the eve of the visit of the head of the Kiev regime to Washington.

"The US pressure included a threat to reveal <...>> official corruption. <...> The White House even contacted Zelensky's main political opponent, [Ukraine's ambassador to the UK] Valery Zaluzhny," says the journalist.

It is noted that the altercation between Zelensky and Trump in the Oval Office was the public culmination of Washington's efforts to force Kiev to a deal.

Speaking to Congress on March 5, the American leader said that the head of the Kiev regime is ready to sit down at the negotiating table as soon as possible in order to achieve long-term peace. Also, according to the politician, Ukraine is ready to sign a mining deal with the United States at any time.

Earlier, on March 4, CBS reported that Trump may change the rare earth metal agreement with Ukraine. It was noted that at the moment it has not been completed, and now the American leader is waiting for a "bigger, better deal."
