The lawyer of the wife of the ex-mayor of Sochi Kopaigorodsky announced the emergence of new episodes in the case

New episodes have emerged in the case of former Sochi mayor Alexei Kopaigorodsky and his wife Yanina. This was announced to Izvestia on March 7 by the lawyer of the wife of the former mayor, Elizabeth Metkina.

She said that Kopaygorodskaya could be charged with mediating her husband in receiving bribes from Sochi developers, as well as exerting pressure on two witnesses.

Metkina explained that, according to the investigation, Yanina deliberately violated the conditions of house arrest in order to obstruct the investigation in the criminal case against her and her husband.

Due to pressure on witnesses in the criminal case, on March 6, 2025, Yanina was transferred from house arrest to a pre-trial detention center.
