- The NYT learned about the Trump administration's plan to ban citizens of several countries from entering the United States

The administration of US President Donald Trump plans to ban citizens of several countries from entering the United States. This was reported on March 6 by The New York Times (NYT), citing sources.
"The draft recommendations circulating within the executive branch propose a red list of countries whose citizens Trump may ban from entering the United States," unnamed officials told the publication.
One of the officials shared that at the moment the list consists mainly of states whose citizens were banned from entering the United States in accordance with previous versions of the instructions of the American leader. The latest such list includes Cuba, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Sudan, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen.
The new list is expected to be expanded. Sean VanDiver, the head of the AfghanEvac non-profit organization, quoted officials as saying that Afghan citizens would be completely banned from entering the country. At the same time, it is still unclear how the inclusion of the state in the "red" category will affect the situation of Afghans and refugees who have received a green card.Газета.Ru ".
In addition, the recommendations mention the "orange" group of countries, according to which entry to the United States will not be prohibited, but restricted. Thus, it is possible to issue only certain types of visas, the validity period of which can be shortened.
Officials also noted the "yellow" group, which provides for the issuance of 60 days to eliminate the identified deficiencies. In case of non-compliance, States will be moved to one of the more restricted categories.
At the same time, it is unknown whether persons with valid visas will be exempted from these measures or the document will be canceled in accordance with Trump's final decision.
On March 5, the NYT reported on growing frustration in the White House administration with the pace of the deportation process of illegal migrants from the United States. At the same time, it was noted that before that, Trump was pleased with the progress in reducing the number of border crossings to a historical minimum.
