An oil well caught fire in the Atyrau region of western Kazakhstan. Embamunaigas announced this on March 6.

"There are no casualties," the company said in a post on its Telegram channel.

They added that the operational headquarters of Embamunaigas cordoned off the area around the well after the incident. Restoration work is underway at the site.

Prior to that, on January 25, it was reported that an explosion occurred at an oil depot in the Kazakh city of Zhezkazgan, followed by a fire, as a result of which four people were injured. Firefighters extinguished the fire on an area of 100 square meters. m. As a result of the incident, four people were hospitalized.
