Macron declared readiness for dialogue with Putin with Zelensky's consent

French President Emmanuel Macron said on Thursday, March 6, that he was ready for a dialogue with Russian President Vladimir Putin when the right moment came and with the consent of Ukrainian leader Vladimir Zelensky.
"I am ready to talk with President Putin when Zelensky, our European partners and I consider that the right moment has come for this... So the answer to that question is yes," Macron said.
But at the same time, he added that the negotiators' contacts should precede a possible meeting.
Macron said in his address to the nation on March 5 that he intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). He called on the EU to provide itself with the largest amount of military equipment and build up defense capabilities "for the sake of peace itself." According to him, Russia has allegedly become a threat to France and Europe in the coming years.
In addition, Macron expressed the opinion that after the signing of the peace agreement on Ukraine, "it may be necessary" to deploy European peacekeepers on its territory.
