Israel will allow a limited number of Muslims from Palestine to enter the Temple Mount during Ramadan. This was reported on March 6 by The Jerusalem Post (JP).

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu approved the recommendation of the security authorities to limit the number of Muslims from the West Bank who can visit the Temple Mount on Fridays during the month of Ramadan.

According to the plan, men over 55, women over 50, and children under 12 will be allowed to visit the Temple Mount.

In addition, Netanyahu noted that any visitor must obtain a permit and a preliminary security assessment, and believers will only be allowed to enter through regulated crossings after a full security check before entering Israel.

Earlier, on March 2, Netanyahu's office reported that Israel agreed to accept the plan of the US President's special envoy for the Middle East, Stephen Witkoff, for a temporary ceasefire in the Gaza Strip for the period of Ramadan and Passover. The proposal implies the release of half of the hostages, both living and dead— on the very first day. Hamas refuses to accept Witkoff's plan.
