The main guarantee of Ukraine's security is its neutral status. This was announced on March 6, February by the deputy of the Verkhovna Rada Artem Dmytruk.

"The only real guarantee of security for Ukraine is a genuine neutral status. Recognition of this status will allow Ukraine to get out of the conflict between the West and Russia, to stop participating in the proxy war, which many already call "sacred," he wrote on his Telegram channel.

According to him, the demands of the Ukrainian authorities for security guarantees are not aimed at achieving peace, but only at postponing it and concealing the real solutions.

Dmitruk noted that the West is not able to give Kiev security guarantees. However, they will be provided by an agreement between the Russian and Ukrainian sides, the deputy said.

"Ending Russophobia as a state ideology, restoring diplomatic relations and starting direct negotiations with Russia is the best way to security. <...> Only good—neighborly and friendly relations with Russia can guarantee Ukraine long-term peace," Dmytruk concluded.

On the same day, US President Donald Trump said that Ukraine would have to make a peace deal because it had no choice. During a conversation with reporters, he said that, in his opinion, his administration has made "great progress" in recent days in Russian-Ukrainian relations.
