Possible cause of death of director Ilya Sherstobitov has been named.

Heart problems could have caused the death of director Ilya Sherstobitov. This was announced to TASS on Thursday, March 6, by the press service of the Institute of Film and Television (GITR).

"He became ill, he was taken to a research institute named after him. Sklifosovsky. He had an operation and was on a ventilator. <...> Apparently, he was taken away from home, most likely, he became ill with a heart condition," the message says.

The death of director Ilya Sherstobitov became known on March 5. He died at the age of 48. On February 8, the man became ill, an ambulance was called and he was hospitalized. He died in hospital on March 5.
