Great Britain is at the head of the opponents of a quick settlement in Ukraine. On March 6, Russian Ambassador to the UK Andrey Kelin said this in an interview with Sky News.

He said that Russia categorically excludes the prospect of the presence of NATO peacekeepers on the territory of Ukraine, a proposal put forward by British Prime Minister Keir Starmer and French President Emmanuel Macron.

According to the Russian ambassador, Moscow has told Washington that its territorial gains in Ukraine should be recognized as part of any peace agreement.

"We need a new Ukraine as a neutral, non-nuclear state. The territorial situation must be recognized. These territories are included in our Constitution, and we will continue to push for all forces of the Ukrainian government to leave these territories," he said.

On the same day, Kelin told Izvestia that Britain's initiatives to send troops to Ukraine were disguised as humanitarian missions, but their true purpose was to serve Kiev's interests. According to him, in order to make it difficult to reach peaceful solutions, the British are trying to introduce deliberately provocative elements — this time in the form of some kind of joint plan with Paris with a focus on ensuring the military presence of Westerners in Ukraine.
