A representative from France will visit Lithuania to coordinate the details of the nuclear shield.

A representative from Paris will come to Vilnius to coordinate the details of France's nuclear shield. Lithuanian President Gitanas Nauseda told reporters on Thursday, March 6.

According to the head of state, he turned to his French counterpart Emmanuel Macron and expressed Lithuania's desire to fall under the "nuclear umbrella." He, in turn, immediately offered to visit his adviser in the country to discuss the details of the initiative.

Nauseda called the details of the agreement and the work of the French system significant.

"It is very important that the algorithm of its activation is clear. In what case, under what circumstances does it activate, so that it doesn't happen that the system is there, but at the time when you need to press the button, someone doesn't do it," Nauseda said during a briefing.

Earlier, on March 6, the Russian Foreign Ministry reported that the last speech of the French president clearly sounded the notes of nuclear blackmail, Russia will take this into account in defense planning.
