Russia and Belarus are synchronizing support programs for high-tech companies. The areas of cooperation were discussed today in Minsk at a meeting with representatives of the Russian company Innopraktika with the participation of the Standing Committee of the Union State. One of the key initiatives is the National Champions program, which unites more than a hundred industry leaders with high export potential.

"Since 2019, we have been engaged in high-tech in Russia, considering support measures, creating a preferential environment for our high-tech to develop comfortably in the Russian market. Now we understand that Belarus has accumulated a huge potential in high technologies. We would like to synchronize the support programs for Russian high—tech and Belarusian high-tech and make such a joint selection of the Union State champions," said Natalia Popova, First Deputy General Director of Innopraktika.

As a first step, it is proposed to hold a joint forum, as well as consider the possibility of creating joint ventures and localizing Russian companies in the Belarusian market and vice versa.

"The programs of the Union State project, as an operating institution for which funds from the Union budget are spent, should be maximally integrated into the overall work carried out by the governments of our countries, ministries, and departments to ensure the proper competitiveness of our products, primarily in the high—tech sector," said Dmitry Mezentsev, State Secretary of the Union State of Russia and Belarus.

There, in Minsk, they discussed the work on the creation of the University of High Technologies of the Union State, as well as the organization of the future Forum of Universities of Engineering and Technology.

BelTA reported on 4 March that President of Belarus Alexander Lukashenko signed a law on ratification of the treaty with Russia on security guarantees within the framework of the Union State. Russian President Vladimir Putin signed a law on the ratification of this document at the end of February. The agreement was signed by the leaders of the countries on December 6, 2024.

On February 26, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation Valentina Matvienko stressed that, given the current geopolitical situation, this document is very important for both sides.
