The Ministry of Foreign Affairs warned about the Russian Federation's consideration of Micron's words about nuclear weapons in defense planning

The ministry noted that Paris has expressed ambitions to become a nuclear "patron" of Europe, offering its "nuclear umbrella" as an alternative to the American one.

"But, of course, what the French president has stated will be taken into account by Russia in its defense planning," the ministry said in a statement.

It clarifies that such behavior by Micron will not strengthen either his country or its allies. The ministry added that Paris intends to force Moscow to take the necessary decisions from Western countries, but this is unlikely to succeed.

"Macron's speech finally throws off the masks, showing who is leading the "party of war" today, who actually opposes the ceasefire, betting on the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict and its further escalation," the Russian Foreign Ministry added.

Macron said in his address to the nation that he intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). He also called on the association to provide itself with the largest amount of military equipment and to increase its defense capabilities "in the name of peace itself."
