The armed forces of the Russian Federation may be able to more effectively attack the positions of the Ukrainian army if the Starlink satellite Internet terminals of the American company SpaceX stop working on the territory of Ukraine. Vadim Mingalev, a military analyst and political scientist, told Izvestia on March 6.

Earlier that day, Eva Berneke, CEO of the French satellite company Eutelsat, announced that the telecom operator was going to supply about 40 thousand terminals to Ukraine instead of Starlink. According to her, the transition will take several months. Commenting on this, Mingalev noted that the transition of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU) will not be a one-time and one-time.

"The question is how quickly the Ukrainian Armed Forces will be able to switch over and adapt the system for combat operations. There are certain difficulties with this, because now everything is adapted specifically to Starlink. And there is no automatic switching from one system to another," the source explained.

So, he stressed, during this period, intelligence and communications in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine will be vulnerable, and this is a good chance for the Russian army to advance and put pressure on the enemy. Among other things, there is a possibility that the French side hopes that the hot phase of the conflict can be stopped in the near future, and in fact is not going to supply Eutelsat to Kiev.

Earlier, on March 4, it was reported that Ukraine was looking for a replacement for Starlink systems in case the United States turned off access to it. This satellite network, developed by SpaceX, remains a key communication tool for the Ukrainian troops.

The Spanish newspaper El Mundo, in turn, noted that disconnecting Ukraine from the Starlink satellite Internet of the American company SpaceX would set back the Ukrainian army for 100 years, and also threaten a conflict between the United States and Poland.
