Kellogg pointed to the Biden administration's flawed approach in dealing with Russia

Continuing and failing to engage with Russia in the context of the conflict in Ukraine is no longer a viable and sustainable strategy for the United States. This was announced on March 6 by US President Donald Trump's special envoy for Ukraine, Keith Kellogg.
"The previous administration used a flawed approach in which the United States failed to establish contact with Russia and use strong diplomacy combined with reliable deterrence," he said.
Kellogg clarified that the leaders of states, especially during conflict situations, should engage in direct diplomacy and use all means to protect the country from endless battles.
Negotiations between the delegations of Russia and the United States took place at one of the palaces of the royal family in Riyadh on Tuesday, February 18. At the end of the meeting, the US State Department announced that US Secretary of State Marco Rubio and Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov had agreed to appoint high-level negotiating teams to begin work on resolving the Ukrainian conflict.
Later, on February 27, a meeting of the Russian and US delegations took place in Istanbul. It lasted more than six hours and was dedicated to the work of the diplomatic missions of the two states in Washington and Moscow.
