"Talking about important things" on March 10 — the topic of the lesson

The topic of the upcoming lesson will be "The development of mass sports in Russia." Students will talk about the benefits of regular physical activity, the impact of sports on a person's character, their ability to work in a team and cope with stress. The students will also be introduced to the history of some of the major sporting events that take place in our country. In addition, students will learn about the Ready for Work and Defense (TRP) complex.

The lesson will be held in the format of an educational conversation using interactive materials. Educational videos, presentations, and interviews with Olympic champion and three-time world champion in cross-country skiing Nikita Kryukov will help students to understand the topic of the lesson. The methodological materials are published on the project's website.

"Conversations about important things" March 10 — lesson program

For students in grades 1-2, the lesson will begin with a fun physical education session. Then the students will be introduced to the concept of "mass sports" and will give some examples from this area. Elementary school students will learn about the Road of Life marathon, which is held annually in St. Petersburg in memory of the siege of Leningrad. At the end of the lesson, students will be invited to discuss why sports are important even for those who do not plan to win medals at major competitions, and complete an interactive task about healthy habits.

Students in grades 3-4 will be shown an excerpt from the animated series "Just about the important. About Mira and Gosha", which shows that sports can be different. The children will be introduced to the major sports events of the Russian Federation — the marathon "Road of Life" and the race "Ski Track of Russia". Using these events as an example, students will learn how mass sports help preserve the historical memory of our country. Children will also learn about famous Russian Paralympians Alexei Ashpatov and Elena Chistilin. At the end of the lesson, students will come up with short motivational texts that could attract their peers to play sports.

Students in grades 5-7 will learn about the meaning and goals of the federal project "Sport is the norm of Life", launched in 2019. They will also be invited to discuss the importance of mass sports for the development of the state and maintaining the health of citizens. In addition, the students will be able to voice their ideas on increasing the attractiveness of sports for young people. At the end of the lesson, students will get acquainted with such a field as digital sports, combining the features of traditional and esports.

Students in grades 8-9 will talk about how mass sports help shape the image of the future of a particular person and the whole country. The children will also learn about street sports and why they have become more popular in recent years. After that, students will answer the quiz questions "From running to esports", which will consolidate their knowledge. In addition, teenagers will be provided with the results of a survey on bad habits common among their peers.

Students in grades 10-11 will be taught about the role of physical activity in maintaining the health of the nation and attracting people to physical activity. Graduates will learn about the main goals of state policy in the field of mass sports and will give their assessment to the results of a survey on the harmful habits of young people. High school students will also talk about the role of digital technologies in the development of sports and modern sports trends.
