- Eutelsat has not ruled out sending 40,000 satellite communication terminals to Ukraine

The French satellite company Eutelsat can supply about 40 thousand satellite communication terminals to Ukraine. This was announced on March 6 by Eva Berneke, CEO of the company, in an interview with Bloomberg TV.
It is noted that the initiative is considered as a replacement for Starlink terminals from the American company of entrepreneur Elon Musk SpaceX.
According to Berneke, it will take several months to send the equipment. At the same time, the company has already sent a couple of thousand units to the Ukrainian territory for Internet access, but at the moment not all of them are connected to the Network.
The head of the company clarified that financial and logistical support for an accelerated transfer process will be needed to implement terminal deliveries. In addition, it is specified that negotiations with suppliers are underway on both the supply of military and standard terminals.
On the eve of the Reuters news agency reported that Eutelsat is negotiating with the authorities of the European Union on the expansion of satellite Internet in Ukraine. It was noted that the transition to other technologies could be difficult and deprive the Armed Forces of Ukraine of one of their key advantages on the battlefield, in particular due to the vulnerability of alternative Internet access solutions to Russian electronic warfare.
Earlier, on March 4, it was reported that Ukraine was looking for a replacement for Starlink systems in case the United States turned off access to it. This satellite network, developed by SpaceX, remains a key communication tool for the Ukrainian troops.
