Zimbabwe's Foreign Minister called Western anti-Russian sanctions illegal

Anti-Russian sanctions are illegal from the point of view of international law. Zimbabwe's Foreign Minister Amon Murwira told reporters on March 6.
According to him, even if a state has sufficient economic and military power, it should not use them against other countries, because this violates the mechanisms of the United Nations (UN).
"The sanctions that Zimbabwe has suffered from for years and Russia is currently suffering from are completely unacceptable at their root. They were, are, and should be recognized as illegal," Murvira said, according to TASS.
On February 27, US President Donald Trump decided to extend the restrictions against the Russian Federation. At the same time, on February 25, he said that "at some point" the sanctions could be lifted.
Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov noted on March 4 that so far no one in the American administration has made official statements that Washington is going to lift sanctions against Moscow.
