Western countries want to get a break for Ukraine to prevent the collapse of the front. This is unacceptable. This was announced on March 6 by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry, Maria Zakharova.

This is how she commented on the actions of France and Great Britain to provide a plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict in Ukraine.

"In reality, we are dealing with an outright desire to achieve a respite for the agonizing Kiev regime at any cost and prevent the collapse of the front," Zakharova said at a briefing.

According to her, firm agreements on the final settlement of the conflict are important. Without them, respite or regrouping is unacceptable. The latter will only lead to the resumption of the conflict with renewed vigor, the diplomat added.

The Reuters news agency reported on March 4 that France and the United Kingdom hope to develop href="https://iz.ru/1849524/2025-03-06/reuters-soobshchilo-o-razrabotke-frantciei-i-britaniei-mirnogo-plana-po-ukraine " target="_blank">peace plan for Ukraine in the coming days. According to him, French President Emmanuel Macron and British Prime Minister Keir Starmer held several separate telephone conversations with the American leader Donald Trump and the head of the Ukrainian state By Vladimir Zelensky.

Starmer announced on March 2 the plans of Great Britain and France for work working on their own plan for a peaceful settlement of the conflict. According to him, the negotiations will include a discussion of where the border of Ukraine will run.
