Chocolate with algae was created in Crimea


According to Alyona Reschikova, Deputy director for Innovation at FITZ InBUM, the representatives of the chocolate factory themselves approached the scientists with a proposal for cooperation. Chocolate with spirulina was the first joint development under the new agreement. A product is currently being developed with other microalgae.
In the institute's press service IA SevastopolMedia was told that spirulina microalgae are rich in a complex of vitamins and minerals, they contain essential and non-essential amino acids. In addition, these algae are a natural antioxidant.
InBUM has been developing functional products, dietary supplements, medicinal and cosmetic products based on microalgae for a long time. So, in 2022, a whole line of such products was presented, including marmalade, ayran, kefir, tan, yogurt, several types of cheese, ice cream, marmalade, soda and cough drops.
Earlier, Natalia Tkachenko, a cosmetology chemist and founder of the beauty brand Roz Mary, said that algae is a frequent component of cosmetics, spirulina, kelp and fucus are most often found in products because of their beneficial properties.
