Sochi Airport has become a key flower delivery hub by March 8th

As reported by KrasnodarMedia news agency, with reference to the airport's press service, from February 20 to March 5, about 96 tons of flowers were sent through Sochi. This is 26% more than in the same period of 2024. Roses, tulips, chrysanthemums, lilies and irises from greenhouses in Krasnodar and Stavropol territories were transported to dozens of Russian cities.
The main part of the transportation was carried out by Aeroflot/Rossiya airlines (28 tons). Then there are Ural Airlines, Nordwind Airlines/"Icarus and S7 Airlines.
The press service of Sochi Airport noted a significant increase in the volume of flower shipments through Sochi over the past three years. So, from 2023 to 2025, the airport sent 242 tons of flowers. This was largely made possible by the introduction of modern storage and logistics standards. In particular, the airport has three refrigerating chambers with a total area of 220 cubic meters, allowing to maintain individual temperature conditions for each type of flowers.
Earlier, Natalia Kolganova, a florist at the FMART by flowwow flower studio chain, spoke about bouquet selection rules for March 8th. On March 8, lovers can receive peony—shaped roses, mothers and grandmothers can receive tulips or asters, and colleagues can receive tulips or carnations.
