Fred Stolle, a 19-time Grand Slam champion, has died at the age of 86. This was reported on March 6 in the Tennis Australia.

In the 1960s, he won singles titles at the championships USA and France, as well as 17 Grand Slam doubles crowns. In addition, Stolle is a three-time Davis Cup winner (1964-1966) with the Australian national team. His last official singles match took place in November 1982 at a tournament in Baltimore, the newspaper reported.

Stolle was also known to generations of sports fans as a commentator who broadcast for the Nine Network, CBS and Fox Sports.

He is survived by his wife Pat, son Sandon, who is the world number two in doubles, and daughters Monique and Nadine.
