The European rearmament plan provides for investments in the military-industrial complex (MIC) Ukraine and financing the supply of weapons to Kiev. This was announced on March 6 by the head of the European Commission (EC) Ursula von der Leyen.

"The plan for the rearmament of Europe provides for the allocation of up to 800 billion euros for investments in defense. This gives member states financial space to invest in defense, provides them with the opportunity to invest in the Ukrainian defense industry or purchase weapons that are immediately sent to Ukraine," she said upon arrival at the European Union (EU) summit in Brussels.

The head of the EC also clarified that the European side wants "peaceful force" in the settlement issue. Von der Leyen stressed that in this regard, she is going to present a plan for rearmament during the summit.

On March 6, MEP Thierry Mariani shared with Izvestia that in order to implement the plan for the rearmament of Europe, the head of the EC href="https://iz.ru/1849712/2025-03-06/evrodeputat-soobshchil-o-namerenii-ek-priniat-plan-po-perevooruzheniiu-evropy-v-obkhod-ep " target="_blank">uses art. 122 The Treaty on the Functioning of the European Union. According to the politician, the use of the article can be justified in case of emergency.
