UAZ will assemble cars faster

This modernization is connected with the expansion of the model range: along with UAZ cars, Sollers pickups are also being produced on the assembly line, the automobile plant noted. The increase in production volumes required not only the lengthening of the conveyor, but also the creation of a new workplace, the press service of the automaker emphasized.

"Previously, the body rotated 180 degrees on the platform and moved along the rails to the opposite side of the conveyor. Now, two turntables perform simultaneous rotation, which makes it possible for the platform and the body to move to another line at the time of their connection. This will significantly speed up the car production process," the UAZ press service noted.

Alexey Spirin, CEO of UAZ, told Izvestia on February 28 that in the middle of this year a new car model will be launched at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. It will be a large Sollers pickup truck.
