- More than 4 thousand Russian and foreign schoolchildren participated in the PROD Olympiad

The final stage of Russia's first industrial development Olympiad PROD among schoolchildren, organized by the Central University, T-Bank and the National Research University Higher School of Economics, has ended in Moscow. More than 4,000 high school students from all regions of Russia, Belarus, as well as Great Britain, Germany, France, Canada, China, Peru and 16 other countries took part in the event.
Industrial programming is the development of software used in real business processes in startups and IT companies. At the PROD Olympiad, students learn about creating IT systems, automating processes, and developing applications that help businesses increase efficiency and reduce costs.
"Here the students are offered not educational, often very artificial tasks, but real problems from the life of companies. Many of the non-standard solutions to these problems proposed by the participants will definitely find application in real projects. We launched the Olympiad just a year ago, and we are pleased to see how the number of participants is growing, and the competition is expanding beyond the country's borders — more than 4,000 high school students from 23 countries. PROD has become a truly international Olympiad," said Evgeny Ivashkevich, Rector of the Central University.
In the final, 235 high school students met in Moscow, who were divided into teams under the guidance of experienced mentors and experts from Central University, T-Bank, and the National Research University Higher School of Economics. For five days, they competed in the development of full-fledged IT products. These include a platform for conducting data analysis competitions, a book exchange service, a project to create loyalty programs for T—Bank partners, a mentor search platform, a movie selection service, and a coworking booking service.
This year, 17 schoolchildren from Russia and Belarus became winners of the Olympiad. They received a 100% grant to study at the Central University, a discount of up to 90% on a joint bachelor's degree from the university and the National Research University of Higher School of Economics, as well as simplified selection for an internship at T-Bank.
