State Duma deputy from the Crimean region, reserve Major General Leonid Ivlev warned French President Emmanuel Macron, who called Russia a threat to Europe, against the fate of Napoleon.

"When the leaders of Russia and other leading countries talk about peace, and on the banks of the Seine about the use of nuclear weapons, then you can not enter history, but get into trouble. The fate of Napoleon only confirms this," he said on March 6 RIA Novosti.

The deputy stressed that this should be remembered.

Earlier in the day, Macron said in an address that he intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). Macron also called on the EU to provide itself with the largest amount of military equipment and build up defense capabilities "for the sake of peace itself." In addition, he said that next week in Paris will be a meeting of the chiefs of the General Staffs of the Armed Forces (AF) of several countries, which will be devoted to discussions on Ukraine.
