A resident of the Khabarovsk Territory was convicted of murdering her young grandson.

In the Khabarovsk Territory, a court sentenced a local resident of Nikolaevsk-on-Amur for the murder of her young grandson. This was reported on March 6 in the press service of the regional prosecutor's office.

"She was found guilty under paragraph "b" of Part 2 of Article 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation ("Murder"). "... The court sentenced the guilty party to 14 years of imprisonment in a correctional colony with one year of restriction of liberty," the Telegram channel says.

Sergey Aksamentov, Deputy Prosecutor of the Khabarovsk Territory, supported the state prosecution.

It was established that in April 2024, a 54-year-old woman took her grandson from her son and daughter-in-law for the weekend. During the day, she consumed alcohol, as a result of which she stabbed her 1.5-year-old grandson at least two times in the neck area.

According to the Investigative Department of the Investigative Committee of Russia for the Khabarovsk Territory, the accused committed the crime out of a feeling of hostility towards the child. The boy died on the spot from his injuries.

A source from Izvestia reported on February 11 that a local resident was in Stavropol href="https://iz.ru/1837534/2025-02-11/v-stavropole-mat-zadushila-chetyrekhmesiachnuiu-doch-podushkoi " target="_blank">smothered her four-month-old daughter with a pillow. After committing the crime, the woman tried to commit suicide, and she is currently under arrest.
