Animal rights activists have stolen piglets from a controversial exhibition in Copenhagen, which were starved to death. This was reported on March 5 by the agency Associated Press (AP) with reference to the installation artist Marco Evaristti.

"Three piglets that were kept hungry as part of a controversial art exhibition in Denmark that attracted international attention have been stolen," the publication says.

According to the author of the installation, the exhibition was supposed to "raise awareness of the suffering caused by mass production of meat." The piglets were deprived of food and water, as a result of which they could have died.

Evaristti said that he had already filed a police report. Later, he found out about his friend's involvement in the abduction, who helped zoo activists free the animals.

"But then I thought about it for a few hours and realized that at least this way the piglets would have a happy life," said the author of the exhibition.

Evaristti's exhibition "And Now You Care" featured an improvised cage made from shopping carts containing three piglets. As the author of the installation noted, the purpose of the exhibition was to draw attention to the cruelties of modern pig farming in Denmark.

Earlier, on February 22, it was reported that employees of the Meshchanskaya interdistrict prosecutor's office revealed href="https://iz.ru/1843436/2025-02-22/moskovskaia-prokuratura-vyiavila-narusheniia-v-antikafe-s-minipigami"> numerous violations in the minipig anti-cafe on Mira Avenue in Moscow, including sanitary and epidemiological requirements for the operation of premises. It is noted that at the time of the inspection there were eight minipigs in the basement.
