A temporary decrease in vision may indicate blood sugar spikes and other non-ophthalmological pathologies. Lidiya Sadulayeva, ophthalmologist at the 3Z clinic, told about this on March 6 "To the newspaper.Ru".

"Short-term visual disturbances that pass quickly and independently are usually not associated with ophthalmological pathologies. And they pass on their own within half an hour," she explained.

According to the doctor, a sudden change in blood glucose concentration can cause short-term vision problems. Thus, deterioration of the condition with the progression of diabetes mellitus can cause the development of temporary myopia.

Sadulayeva also noted that migraines, in addition to pain, can cause flickering in the eyes or temporary loss of vision. Impaired cerebral circulation can also cause double vision or loss of vision in one eye.

"But most often blurred vision can be caused by prolonged use of a computer screen or phone. With prolonged and continuous use of any gadget, the eyes become overextended," the ophthalmologist emphasized.

Earlier, on February 18, ophthalmologist Svetlana Mirgorodskaya shared with Izvestia that the feeling of "sand in the eyes" can be caused by improper wearing of contact lenses. Also, according to the ophthalmologist, unpleasant sensations in the eyes can be caused by various infectious and allergic diseases, including conjunctivitis, blepharitis and keratitis.
