NYT admits short-term suspension of US aid to Ukraine

Representatives of the presidential administration USA Donald Trump was allowed to suspend aid Ukraine may be relatively short-lived if the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky will yield to the demands of the White House. This was reported on March 5 by The New York Times (NYT).
According to Trump administration officials, the suspension of aid is being carried out in order to put pressure on Zelensky to sign an agreement to provide American companies with access to Ukrainian minerals.
"If he makes an agreement, one Trump administration official said, intelligence sharing will continue and military supplies already allocated by the previous administration will flow again," the newspaper informed.
However, as military representatives told the NYT, no one can predict how this pause in assistance and intelligence sharing will affect the course of the armed conflict.

The Reuters news agency reported on March 4 that the White House officially confirmed the suspension of the United States military assistance to Ukraine.
Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council Dmitry Medvedev, in turn, noted that Washington may resume arms supplies to Kiev in case of signing an agreement on rare earth metals. He expressed the opinion that, against the background of its decision, the American administration wants to see how Ukraine will behave.
