The United States is not currently considering the option of sending troops to Mexico. This was announced by US Vice President Jay Dee Vance during a press conference in the village of Eagle Pass on the border with Mexico.

"I'm not going to make any statements about any invasion of Mexico right now. The president's mouthpiece is [USA Donald Trump], and he will, of course, comment on these issues if necessary," he said.

At the same time, he noted that the recognition by the United States of Mexican drug cartels as terrorist organizations would allow "using all the resources of the armed forces to strengthen border control."

Vance also said that the decision on how to use these troops remains with Trump.

"We don't want negative negotiations with the Mexican government. We want the Mexican government to take these organizations seriously and help itself and the Americans at the same time. <..."If they don't agree to this, then, of course, we will figure out what to do based on this," the vice president said.

On March 4, Trump announced a record decrease in the number of illegal crossings of the US border. According to him, the rate of illegal entry into the country is currently the lowest "ever recorded." He also mentioned that other countries allegedly released people from their "psychiatric institutions and insane asylums" to the United States as migrants.
