A single biometric testing center has been created in Moscow.

A unified biometric testing center is opening in Moscow. He will be engaged in research, piloting and evaluating solutions using video analytics, said Natalia Sergunina, Deputy Mayor of the capital.
"Computer vision technologies are used in any modern metropolis. Moscow is actively studying best practices and implementing them to solve urban problems. The center will bring together leading experts and players of the Russian market in this field, which will improve the quality of services and expand the scope of their application," she said.
The organization was created as part of an agreement between the Moscow Department of Information Technology and the Russian Biometric Society. This is not their first partnership project. In 2021, Moscow, together with the society, developed its own rating system for video analytics algorithms.
The new site plans to conduct scientific research, test and evaluate various products, as well as conduct an open dialogue with representatives of the business community.
"The special feature of the center is the openness of all ongoing processes. It will develop testing programs and methods based on the requirements of national standards, test algorithms for various application scenarios, and then publish the results in the public domain. Its launch is an important step for the development of this IT field," said Danila Nikolaev, Director of the Russian Biometric Society, Chairman of the Technical Committee for Standardization TC 098 Biometrics and Biomonitoring.
Russian software companies are invited to take part in the tests. You can get acquainted with the terms and submit an application on the official website of the center.
Moscow is one of the leaders in the implementation of computer vision technologies. The city uses them extensively in housing and communal services, as one of the ways to pay for subway and other services. For example, algorithms help to find people who are missing.
