French President Emmanuel Macron intends to discuss the use of nuclear weapons in order to protect the entire European Union (EU). He stated this on Wednesday, March 5, in his address to the nation, which was broadcast on the YouTube channel of the head of state.

"Our nuclear weapons protect us. We own it sovereignly. Responding to the historically important call of the future German Chancellor [Friedrich Merz], I decided to start a strategic discussion about protecting European allies with our deterrents," Macron said.
