The authorities of the African country of Lesotho said they were "shocked and confused" after the president's words USA Donald Trump said that "no one has ever heard of such a state." This was reported on March 5 by the agency .

"The government of Lesotho was shocked and confused by these comments," the agency reports, citing Lesotho's Foreign Minister Lejon Mpotjoane.

The Foreign minister also added that in this regard, the country's authorities intend to send a protest note to Washington, as they do not treat such statements "lightly."

On March 4, Trump, addressing the US Congress, highlighted the work of the Department for Improving Government Efficiency under the leadership of Elon Musk and listed a number of USAID programs that were closed after the actual liquidation of this agency: $8 million for the withdrawal of transgender mice, $8 million to promote LGBT (recognized as an extremist organization in the Russian Federation — Ed.) in Lesotho, $10 million for circumcision in Mozambique.
