Media reported on Azerbaijan's plans to close the office of the Red Cross in Baku


The Azerbaijani government intends to close the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). This was reported on March 5 by the Azerbaijani news agency APA with a link to the representative of the organization.
"The Azerbaijani government has informed us of its intention to close the representative office of the International Committee of the Red Cross in Azerbaijan," said Ilaha Huseynova, head of the Public Relations Department of the ICRC's Azerbaijani office.
It is reported that the organization is currently in contact with the authorities and is conducting a "bilateral dialogue" on the issue.
Earlier, on February 23, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Azerbaijan заявил about the closure of the representative office of the Russia Today media group (Sputnik Azerbaijan) in the country. Now the company can get accreditation for only one correspondent in Azerbaijan. At the same time, the press service of Rossiya Segodnya told RIA Novosti that they had not received official notifications about the abolition of the representative office.
