Ilya Sherstobitov, director of the film "President's Vacation", has died.

Director, screenwriter and producer Ilya Sherstobitov died at the age of 49. This was announced on March 5 by the Institute of Film and Television (GITR).

The cause of death is not called.

"He was devoted to art, loved his profession, and taught it to his students. This is an irreparable loss for all of us," the on the institute's website.

GITR noted that Sherstobitov devoted his life to cinema, creating films marked by depth and originality. His creations have resonated with both critics and viewers. In addition to film work, he also taught at the Institute's directing department.

"In our memory, he will forever remain a good friend, a dedicated, talented professional and a beloved craftsman. We offer our condolences to the family and friends," the GITR added.

As a director, Sherstobitov worked on the films "Presidential Vacations" and "Steps", as well as on the TV series "On the Rights of a Mother" and the two-part documentary "The Battle of Kursk". In addition, he produced the multi-part films "Remembering you" and "Crown of Creation".
