An industrial 3D printer has been put into operation at the Ulyanovsk Automobile Plant. About this " Magazine" was told at the enterprise on March 5.
They plan to print interior trim components and chassis parts on the printer, but they probably won't appear on production vehicles. Mainly, the new equipment will allow us to quickly produce prototypes of new components for "fitting" on site.
This is how a 3D printer will be used to upgrade the UAZ Patriot SUV.
On February 27, Alexey Spirin, CEO of UAZ, told a correspondent of Izvestia that the Ulyanovsk Plant had upgraded cars based on feedback received from ITS participants. According to him, "closed" type bridges with additional sealing, reinforced crosspieces and cardan shafts, and additional leaf springs appeared on the car models.
