The Moscow City Court refused to transfer the case of ex-Deputy Defense Minister Ivanov to the district court.

The Moscow City Court recognized as lawful the transfer of the case of former Deputy Defense Minister Timur Ivanov from the district court and the closed hearing. On March 5, Izvestia was told about this in court.

"The Moscow City Court, having considered the appeal of Ivanov's defenders against the transfer of the case from the Khamovnichesky District Court Moscow to the Moscow City Court, decided to leave the decision of the court of first instance unchanged, and the appeal was dismissed," the message said.

Earlier, the prosecution filed a motion to transfer the case to the city court. Judge of the Khamovnichesky court has granted the request to transfer the case, the appeal today approved this decision.

About Ivanov's detention became known on April 23, 2024. The next day, his арестовали. Ivanov is charged receiving a bribe in the amount of 1,185 billion rubles. According to investigators, he entered into a criminal conspiracy with the heads of contractors working at the facilities of the Ministry of Defense, and concluded contracts with them in return for illegal personal remuneration. On June 20, Ivanov was suspended.

Final charge in the criminal case against the ex-Deputy Minister of Defense and his former subordinate, accused of embezzlement and money laundering, the prosecutor's office approved on January 20.
