The State Duma (State Duma) in the first reading approved a bill that proposes to completely ban foreign agents from educating Russian citizens. The corresponding statement was published on March 5 on on the website of the Lower house of Parliament.
It will be clarified that foreign agents will not be able to engage in education or education, regardless of the age of the trainees. At the same time, a non-profit organization (NGO) recognized by a foreign agent will not be able to obtain the status of a socially oriented one.
Vyacheslav Volodin, Chairman of the State Duma, said it was unacceptable to allow foreign agents to teach Russian citizens by instilling other people's values in them.
In addition, during the plenary session, the State Duma adopted a bill on fines of up to 500 thousand rubles for foreign agents who do not comply with the requirements of the Ministry of Justice. The text of the bill was published on website of the legislative support system.
In addition, fines for violations of labeling materials will be increased. Thus, the document notes that a fine of 30 to 50 thousand rubles will be imposed on foreign agents who do not correctly label their own materials.
Earlier, on January 31, the State Duma was a package of bills has been introduced aimed at protecting the sovereignty of the Russian Federation and countering foreign interference. The package includes, among other things, bans on the participation of foreign agents in education and enlightenment, and on their receiving support at all levels of government (supplemented by a ban on support at the municipal level).
