- During the period of the out-of-court bankruptcy, debts were written off from 20 thousand pensioners.

During the operation of the simplified out-of-court bankruptcy, more than 95 thousand citizens have applied for debt relief. This was announced on March 5 by Maxim Reshetnikov, Minister of Economic Development, at a meeting of the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin with members of the government.
Most of the requests — over 72 thousand — were received after the mechanism was fine-tuned in November 2023. In addition to citizens with completed enforcement proceedings, bankruptcy has been expanded to pensioners and families with children who have been collecting debts for more than a year, as well as to all citizens who have been unable to pay off for more than seven years.
"Targeted rehabilitation has reached the most socially vulnerable categories of the population. It is important that after the mechanism was expanded, half of the requests came from the older generation. As of today, 20 thousand pensioners, 4 thousand families with children and 5 thousand citizens who have not been able to pay off creditors for more than seven years have already written off their debts. In general, 62 thousand citizens have written off their debts during the entire period of the out—of-court bankruptcy," the minister noted in his speech.
Earlier in the day, Russian Deputy Prime Minister Alexander Novak, during a meeting between the President of Russia and members of the government, called the reduction in mortgage rates by banks a good sign.
