Alexander Milokosty was born in 1956 in Moscow. His father was a naval officer, and his mother was a teacher. When the future actor turned six, his parents divorced. At the same time, the boy was invited for the first time to audition for the film "I bought Dad." He did not get the role then, but his data remained in the database of the Gorky Film Studio.

In 1969, 13-year-old Milokosty played the role of Yura Lvov in the film "His Excellency's Adjutant" about the events of the Russian Civil War. According to the plot, his hero, the son of a deceased White Guard officer, falls under the care of the Red scout Pavel Koltsov (Yuri Solomin). The boy guesses about Koltsov's real mission, but does not betray him.

The film brought Milokostom all-Union fame. The teenager began to be recognized on the street, and his remark "Pavel Andreevich, are you a spy?" became a cult. The talent of the young actor was also noted by the director of the film Evgeny Tashkov.

Milokosty himself recalled that he enjoyed filming enormously. According to the artist, he was delighted with the atmosphere of the revolution and "annoyed all the pyrotechnics" with requests to hold weapons or shoot blanks.

In parallel with the "Adjutant of His Excellency," Milokosty participated in the filming of the film "Three" based on the novel of the same name by Maxim Gorky. In it, he played the role of the main character Ilya Lunin as a child.

In 1973, Milokosty entered the Shchukin Theater College for the course of Anatoly Borisov. In the same year, he reappeared on Soviet screens as Henry Poindexter in the film The Headless Horseman. During his studies, he also starred in the film "Granite Islands" directed by Boris Durov.

After graduating from college in 1977, Milokosty entered the Theater of the Soviet Army, where he served in the military. From 1979 to 1989, the actor worked at the Moscow Regional Drama Theater. During this time, he performed more than 40 roles.

After leaving the theater, Milokosty starred in the TV series "A Spanish Actress for a Russian Minister" (1990) and "Iron Curtain" (1994-1996), but he did not seek to continue his career as an actor and opened his own apartment repair company. In the 2000s, he moved to Krakow, where he became an employee of the Russian consulate. For some time he held the position of Deputy director of the Research Institute of Industrial Transport.

In the 2010s, Milokosty participated in the filming of documentaries about "His Excellency's Adjutant" and "The Headless Horseman."

He was married to his first wife Natalia Milokosty from 1984 to 1997. Over time, relations with his wife became strained, conflicts often occurred in the family, and the actor announced that he wanted to get a divorce. After that, the woman decided to get rid of her husband in order to become the sole owner of his three-room Moscow apartment, and hired a killer through intermediaries.

However, Natalia's plan failed. The killer was unable to harm the victim and confessed to the Moscow Criminal Investigation Department. Law enforcement officers informed the actor about the impending assassination attempt, and then arrested all the participants in the criminal scheme.
