Russian Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Patrushev said on March 5 at a joint meeting of the MGIMO Supervisory and Board of Trustees in Moscow that graduates of the Institute successfully work as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture abroad.
"Since 2018, an agreement on the establishment of a basic department has been in force between MGIMO and the Ministry of Agriculture. Its key task is to train highly qualified specialists with an understanding of the international specifics of trade and the promotion of agricultural products," he said.Patrushev also stressed that over the past six years, more than 130 graduates have been trained at this department and are successfully working as representatives of the Ministry of Agriculture abroad and in leading companies in the agricultural sector. The Deputy Prime Minister suggested that competition in these areas will increase every year, as agricultural markets become more attractive.
The meeting was chaired by Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov. During the event, the board members heard a report by MGIMO Rector Anatoly Torkunov on the university's activities in 2024 and the main aspects of the MGIMO development program "Priority. Technological leadership "for the period from 2025-2036."
On January 27, Russian Minister of Agriculture Oksana Lut at a parliamentary hearing told about the training of personnel in the field of agro-industrial complex (AIC). According to her, within the framework of the national project, by 2030 it is planned to organize the work of 18 thousand agroclasses throughout the country.
